What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in much the same way. This policy explains which ones findandsay.com uses and how you can control them. It works alongside our privacy policy.
What we use
We keep this short on purpose: no advertising cookies, no social media trackers, and nothing that follows you to other sites.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count returning visitors. | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_007L1RFL77 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit (session) for our analytics reports. | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
fs-store (local storage, not a cookie) | This site | Remembers the Amazon store you picked (US, CA or UK) so Buy buttons open the right store. It never leaves your device. | Until you clear it | Preference |
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful and how people find the site. Google Analytics does not store your IP address, and we do not use it to identify you or for advertising. Google’s own advertising features are switched off.
If you visit from the European Union, the UK or Switzerland, these cookies are not set. Google then receives only anonymous, cookie-free signals that cannot tell one visitor from another.
Security checks
Our sign-up, vote and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. It runs inside a frame from challenges.cloudflare.com and does not set cookies on findandsay.com. If Cloudflare’s security systems ever detect unusual traffic, Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie (such as __cf_bm, which lasts 30 minutes). These are strictly necessary to protect the site and cannot be switched off.
How to control cookies
- Your browser: every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and local storage in its settings. Blocking cookies does not stop the site from working.
- Google Analytics: you can opt out on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Private browsing: cookies are removed when you close a private or incognito window.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change cookies, we will update this page and the date at the top.
